Since its inception in 1997, the close cooperation between the security partners leads to good results. Stuttgart is still one of the safest big cities in Germany. After the last municipal Bürgerumfrage the vast majority of the citizens in their respective residential area feels very safe or secure. The Stuttgart security partnership is based on the idea that safety is not solely a matter for the police, because security concerns everyone and therefore a common task. The security partnership is based on an intensive dialogue between citizens, city hall and police.
